From 1895 to now, from Grubbworms to Junior Aggies to Mavericks, our Alumni Association is bridging generations to support our Alumni, present and future.

Serving the Alumni of NTAC/ASC/UTA

From a large, hybrid university-employee/non-profit volunteer-directed 501c3 that required 10% of all graduates to be present to authorize any changes to the By-laws, to a lean self-perpetuating Board-driven totally separated and volunteer 501c3 non-profit, we are constantly charting new ground in serving our Association members. Our 300+ Life members are our primary guidance. Our 270,000+ alumni scattered to the four winds seem generally unfocused on the school. We need to fix that.

DRUMMING UP SUPPORT

The years between 2010 and 2015 were the water shed years. The time is finally right to set new foundations for bridges going forward between Alumni and the school. We have a fresh slate to write on, let’s be about what the future can look like and where our Alumni are needed and wanted.

SUPPORTING FUTURE ALUMNI

Scholarships – Application, open til 4/1. Old school unless someone wants to volunteer to help us. Internships – types and locations. Which Departments, what employers, where and how? Yep, all over the map and overlapping ? Let us know what is out there and let’s start integrating things and make them visible. Where’s the cool, online Merch for present and future alums? Seen any lately?

JOURNEY

In 2015, President Kharbari acted to separate the University-funded portion of the organization (Alumni Relations) from the volunteer Alumni Leadership Board. After a judicially required reconfiguration, the unwieldy makeup of the Association was re-invigorated into a Board capable of functioning in a greatly reduced and far more responsive configuration. The Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that serve as the governing body. Scholarships, Alumni events and networking programs for current students represent some of the more targeted initiatives of the Alumni Association. To succeed in its mission, The University of Texas at Arlington Alumni Association strives to be an influential force in in creating strong advocates and a lasting legacy for Arlington University.

OUR IMPACT

We have made a significant impact in our community through our non-profit organization. By providing services and support to those in need, we have created a positive change. Our efforts have helped to improve the lives of many and we are committed to continuing to make a difference. We are making a impact every day for our alumni, present and future. Providing scholarships to current students, especially maintaining orphaned scholarship programs, as well as generating Alumni support for school programs and activities, is part of what we do.
How do we stack up? Alumni numbers by the reports: UT(Austin) – 53,864; UTA 41,613; UTSA – 35,900; UTD- 29,855; UTRGV – 34,194; UT Tyler – 10,541; UNT – 46,000; U of H – 47,980; UDallas – 2328; A&M (all campuses) – 79,000; Tech – 64,000 (across 5 universities). How do we compare to other schools as to current attendance now? No football, a large percentage of students living on campus, no merchandise, and you must ask to find out if people attended UTA.
