Diversity seminar features social justice speaker

Kathy Obear, president of Alliance for Change, discusses "Creating an Inclusive, Socially Just Campus Community" at the faculty/staff professional development seminar 10:30 a.m.-noon Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Bluebonnet Ballroom at the E.H. Hereford University Center.

Dr. Obear has more than 25 years experience as a trainer and organization development consultant. She has presented to top leaders at hundreds of colleges across the country.

A founding faculty member of the Social Justice Institute, an intensive professional development program for social justice educators, she has received the American College Personnel Association Diamond Honoree award for significant contribution to higher education and student affairs work.

The seminar is part of the Diversity Lecture Series, as Obear speaks in a public lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Bluebonnet. Hosted by Multicultural Affairs and Student Affairs, the events are free for all faculty and staff.
