World-Class Boxing Comes to Arlington
FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Reaping a steadfast reputation for excellence in the promotion of professional boxing and a continuously-growing loyal fan base, Standing 8 Promotions is now bringing the excitement and thrill of the fight to the beautiful, new College Park Center at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). The Arlington debut will take place on Friday, June 28th with Fight #3 of the Bud Light Pro Fight Series.
“We couldn’t be happier with our new home in Arlington,” says Standing 8 Promotions President Dustin Haney. “UTA has been very supportive and welcoming in our move, and we look forward to meeting the business owners and residents of the Arlington community.”
Recently opened in February 2012, the $78 million, 218,000-square foot stadium seats up to 7,000. Its state-of-the-art technology and convenient location in the heart of the DFW Metroplex ensures it to be a standout venue. Says Haney, “With boxing, the venue is important because the whole event is exciting, not just the fights. From the ring girls to the ring announcers, to the exciting music and fighter entrances, to surprise celebrity visits, the whole thing is a great show. The facility has all the bells and whistles to produce an entertaining fight night with live music, videos and giveaways, including a vacation package. Our debut promises to be a thrilling night, especially with Mark Elfenbein from 105.3 The Fan as the ring announcer and The Fan broadcasting live from all the fights,” added Haney.
Standing 8 Promotions’ growth as Texas’ leading boxing promotion company has facilitated its move to a larger venue space (formerly at Hurst Conference Center) and securing Bud Light as its title sponsor of the Bud Light Pro Fight Series. It is currently seeking more sponsors, offering many added-value benefits thanks to the new stadium, such as digital ribbon placement, announcements by the ring announcer, commercial display opportunities on all event screens and more media opportunities from their new partnership with 105.3 The Fan radio.
Standing 8 not only promotes their rising star boxers, like Tony Lopez, Craig Callahan and newcomer knock-out expert James DeHerrera, but also instills integrity, discipline, and showmanship, not just in the ring but in the community, too. Standing 8 partners with Fort Worth Metro, an inner city non-profit organization committed to serving the children and families of the poverty-stricken and crime-ridden areas of the DFW Metroplex. One dollar from every ticket sale for the Bud Light Pro Series events benefits Fort Worth Metro, and Standing 8 boxers reach out to inner city kids regularly at Fort Worth Metro events throughout DFW.
The remaining 2013 Bud Light Pro Fight Series fights are scheduled on June 28, August 24, October 26, and December 6, 2013. Tickets may be purchased online at www.standing8promotions.com or by calling the College Park Center box office at 817-272-9595.
